My favorite railroad is Metra which is Chicago's comutter railroad. My favorite locomotive model is EMD's F40PH. I got my username from the fact that I have an HO scale Metra engine #163 that is an F40PH. I also have a volunteer job at the Toledo Lake Erie Western Railroad it is a tourist Railroad in Northwest Ohio. A little info about the TLEW railroad. The Toledo Lake Erie Western Railroad was created in 1965 and incorperated in 1969. We operate our tourist train also known as the "Bluebird Passenger Train" on 11 miles of ex-Nickel Plate railroad trackedge. It was know as the "Cloverleaf Division" by the NKP Road. It was a line from Toledo, Ohio to St. Louis. We operate on one of the last remaining sections of the "Cloverleaf Division" as most of the ex-NKP track on this line has been torn up. The ownership of this line changed to Norfolk Western in 1964. In 1974 the Toledo Lake Erie Western railroad purchased the line from the NW from Grand Rapids, Ohio to Milepost 15 in waterville ohio. The TLEW curently leases up to milepost 14 in Waterville, Ohio from Norfolk Southern to obtain use of the Waterville Depot. Some highlights of our line includes a 901ft. long bridge over the Maumee River in Grand Rapids, Ohio. Other scenery along our line includes an 1817 log cabin, open farmland, active wildlife, and much more. When I work at the TLEW I usually work in the Passenger coaches collecting tickets from passengers and shareing info about the trip such as the scenary and landmarks. I am also part TLEW's MOW department. We are one of the few railroads around which still preform track work MOW using railroad Motorcars instead of Hy-Rail trucks. Our passenger train includes An ALCO S4 #5109 built in 1946 for the CO. Our cars are 1920s NYC electric coaches and a Delware Lakawana coach from about 1918. We also own 3 other engines including an Alco S-2 #112 used for parts to keep our ALCO S4 #5109 operating. Also we own a Whitcomb 44 tonner #1 which is in the process of being restored and is able to operate. It was the first Diesel-electric locomotive the Ann Arbor Railroad owned. Last but not least we own a Baldwin 0-6-0 steam locomotive #202 that used to work for the Detorit Edsion Power company. It is curently awaiting funding to restore the 0-6-0 to operating condition. Well, as you probably guessed it I am also a railfan. I have a few things I ask of fellow railfans. 1. Enjoy the hobby! 2. Never tresspass on railroad property it is not only illegal dangerous but, this action gives us a bad name with the railroads 3. Don't compalin! There is nothing worse than listening to someone who complains about a train that does not have their favorite engines on it.
