PCV = Powered Combat Vest. Muzik is from Einhander. To this day, I don't understand why every other FPS game has to have a SPAS-12 and/or a Desert Eagle in it. The G36 is another "c0ol t0ol" that makes appearances in games and movies because it lo0ks hip. I'm okay with that as long as it's believable. In They Hunger, Black Widow Games changed the "hunting rifle" to a G36 for no apparent reason except for lo0ks. It was originally based on the sniper rifle from Team Fortress Classic. It vaguely resembles a bullpup conversion of a Ruger AC-556 (as seen in Total Recall except with a longer barrel) except I'm not entirely sure it was a bullpup. Subtle clues hint that They Hunger takes place in 1989, possibly December, in the American South (hence no snow). The G36 was developed in the early '90s, so it doesn't fit the setting. Plus, it uses 5-round mags which lo0k like they should hold at least 20 rounds. It's full-auto when no-scoped which is pointless due to only five rounds. It's otherwise one of the most useful weapons due to its nightvision scope and the fact that you often have to find ways to get the drop on gun-equipped enemies before they can sho0t you since you don't wear armor in that mod. The SPAS-12, as portrayed in video games, is about as retarded as how it's portrayed in action movies. It usually has the stock removed for no reason, or worse, has a top-folding stock that remains peramently folded for no reason. The one in L4D2 has a top-folding stock with a ho0k. Of course, the stock remains folded. The purpose of the ho0k is to fascilitate one-handed firing by swiveling the ho0k out and bracing it against your forearm. Basically pointless. I've fired a Benelli M1 Super 90 one-handed with heavy loads and it's no problem, plus it doesn't have a forearm bracer (because it's pointless). L4D2 also has a Benelli M4 Super 90. Why would anyone cho0se a SPAS-12 over a Benelli? The SPAS-12 in Opposing Force and L4D2 are both lame. The hi-def weapon model in OpFor has a short magazine tube yet still holds eight rounds somehow. The SPAS in L4D2 has the longer magazine tube yet holds 10 rounds somehow. Nine (eight in the tube plus one in the chamber) would at least be believable (and correct). There are two different Remington 870s in L4D2. One lo0ks like an HD model (blued w/w0od furniture) with rifle sights and the other is a Marine Magnum (Marinecoat w/black synthetic furniture) with Ghost Ring sights and a vent rib. It's called the "chrome shotgun" but it's actually Marinecoat which is better. These two 870s have different magazine tube lengths yet both somehow hold eight rounds. With the short tube, the 870 HD should hold 4+1. The Marine Magnum has a correct capacity (barrel lo0ks like 20", tube fits flush w/barrel which means 7+1 assuming there's no duck plug which is a useless device anyway). Why is it that we never see chamber-loading in FPS games with pump-action or autoloading fixed-tube shotguns but programmers are almost always putting a pump at the end of the reload animation? That's retarded! If you're to0 lazy to do a chamber-load animation, there's an alternative. Do it like this: Load one shell, pump, then load the rest. There should be NO pump at the END of the reload animation. There should be NO pump if there's a shell in the chamber. Is Valve ever going to get this right? Are they ever going to NOT put a SPAS-12 in their games from now on? Same for the Desert Eagle. Originality, please! Authenticity, please! And ALL FPS games from now on should have functional sights on EVERY weapon.

Sep 8, 2010 - I don't have anything against the G36, but I would appreciate to be able to switch between the 3X scope and the reflex sights (if it's a Bundeswehr G36) or between the 1.5X scope and the backup ironsights (if it's a G36E). The only game in where you can switch between sights is the upcoming Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad, and the only game in where the character reloads a pump action shotgun properly (chamber load and then fill the tube) is Metal Gear Solid 4.

Sep 8, 2010 - @Xerxes1688 you can switch between sights in this manner in arma 2 Operation Arrowhead as well.

Sep 8, 2010 - While I know mainstream games don't usually do the chamber loading in games I know two mods that do that. Firearms: Source and Insurgency Mod for HL2. I'd recommend Firearms: Source only because Insurgency has a somewhat steep learning curve to use their weapons correctly.

Sep 9, 2010 - @Xerxes1688 I'd rather see a G3 than a G36, but it would have to be authentic (NOT like Far Cry 2). That means 20-round mags (NOT mags that lo0k like 20-rounders but somehow hold 30) and a non-reciprocal chargine handle that does NOT reciprocate (unlike the reciprocating non-reciprocal charging handle on the G3KA4 from Far Cry 2 or the MP5/HK54 from STALKER). That reminds me, I can't believe GSC has made three STALKER games so far and still keeps doing the MP5 wrong.

Sep 9, 2010 - @IggyHazard GSC wanted our money fast with CS and CoP, they rehashed the engine and use the same graphics with little improvements besides some fancy DX 1011 effects. Also, the reciprocating non-reciprocal handle, as it happens with the mirrored gun models (ejection port on the left), is more cool looking and "dynamic". Yeah, whatever *roll eyes* Is distracting and has no real porpose whatsoever, and it even chews more GPU power because of the extra animations going on on-screen.

IggyHazard Says:

Sep 9, 2010 - @Xerxes1688 Why didn't they give the MP5 a foregrip? I have no problem with hybrid weapon designs in video games as long as they work right. If they wanted it to have a reciprocating charging handle, they could have simply given it a Kurz grip forearm so it would make sense. Otherwise, the charging handle would chew up the sho0ter's hand.
