These commercials aired on NBC on February 20th, 1982 1. Michelob (I'm guessing these Michelob ads were originally Super Bowl ads, because they're totally epic and look really expensive) 2. Yamaha Virago (There were a ton of ads for motorcycles during this episode of SNL for some reason) 3. FedMart (With Elliot Janeway. Those jeans look terrible) 4. Cachet 5. Chevy Cavalier Type-10, Citation X-11 and Camaro Z28 6. "Private Eyes" by Hall Oates (LOL Classic. It doesn't seem like music is advertised on TV like this anymore) 7. Benylin (I don't think my mom ever actually got this stuff for us, but I totally remember that cheesy art on the packaging) 8. Honda Nighthawk ("Nighthawk" sounds like an 80's action drama) 9. CC Cola (If this brand is still around I've never seen it) 10. "Saturday Night Live" Commercial Bumper 11. Promo for "Bob Hope's Women I Love: Beautiful But Funny" (It was wise of them to change Bob Hope's original title, "Funny Broads") 12. Standard Shoe Stores 13. Wickes Furniture 14. Beech-Nut 15. News Center 4 Promo 16. Chevy Camaro (Amazing new wave style) 17. Denny's 18. TV Spot for "Death Wish II" (Few things are more entertaining than watching Charles Bronson murder random criminals) 19. Jojoba Farms 20. Stanley Tools Hardware 21. Suzuki

Oct 9, 2010 - It was a Southern California based discount department store (With a few other locations in the southwest). It actually went out of business later on in '82.

Oct 11, 2010 - love Hall and Oates!

rockergirl83 Says:

Oct 11, 2010 - Wickes Furniture. Sorry, but I do not want a garden on my sofa.

80s4U Says:

Oct 11, 2010 - That was one ghetto weight bench in the Stanley ad. Pretty much Detroit.

PatrioticFront Says:

Oct 11, 2010 - I agree, although in fairness to TV then, as opposed to now, back then most people only had at most 40 channels. So, there was an incentive to make something entertaining with high quality. TV to me in the present is un watchable, I really dont know how people can watch most of what's on.

Oct 14, 2010 - everybody loves being able to buy tires where they buy their ground beef love that Cachet ad. the women in 80's ads had such a soft, pretty look what was the parent company of CC Cola? Was it like RC? rainbox trout w/ baked potato for $3.49. unbelievable, even if it is Denny's "When the cops can't stop it, Bronson will." friggin' epic love how the mom in the hardware ad had her jeans up to her nipples i thought Jojoba girl had a cold sore, then I realized it was a beauty mark

Nuudles12 Says:

Oct 14, 2010 - brings back alot memories.

skystarless Says:

Oct 24, 2010 - $449 for a sofa in 1982? That's...kind of a lot, isn't it? I mean, wasn't minimum wage only a couple of bucks per hour back then?

80sEric Says:

Dec 5, 2010 - The woman I believe you're referring to looks a lot like Sheri Belafonte-Harper to me.

orion5175 Says:

Jan 5, 2011 - I agree with you 100%

orion5175 Says:

Jan 5, 2011 - drink michelob and have an affair, Tats the message I got from the first commercial

DanZero77 Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Ok something I've always noticed on any commercial breaks from old SNL episodes from this time period -- the clapping always bleeds into the first commercial. In this case its at 3:00. Why is is that so? CC was a very popular East coast brand in the 80s. It was available here in NJ.

80sCommercialVault Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - This is conjecture on my part, but I think since it was a live show (At least on the East Coast), the commercials probably had to be manually edited on-the-fly into the network feed, which would explain why the audio from SNL usually didn't fade out before the commercial started.

DanZero77 Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Good point, I forget that these are from the West coast feeds, living in the East all my life we aren't subject to that kind of editing, if that is indeed the case.

usa02 Says:

Jul 1, 2011 - That's Casey Kasem v/o the promo for "Bob Hope's The Women I Love: Beautiful But Funny" and who did the ending v/o for the "Death Wish II" movie ad?

80sCommercialVault Says:

Jul 26, 2011 - The Camaro started production in 1966...making it 45 years old this year.

remingtonh Says:

Aug 21, 2011 - $449 would equal $1051 today. Not outragous for a nice couch.

remingtonh Says:

Aug 21, 2011 - I agree with you completely. But didn't it look more pan-fryed instead of grilled?

TERRORKLOWNS Says:

Nov 2, 2011 - how much was a can of soda then, ?? like 30 cents, lol, buck or more today

MeInTX Says:

Dec 2, 2011 - From the clapping, I assumed at first the Benylin ad was an SNL fake ad you had left in.

MeInTX Says:

Dec 2, 2011 - Whoever is doing that VO did one for every movie ad he's posted from the 82 SNLs. It's rather odd to hear the specific theaters the varioius films are playing at, as opposed to a generic "now playing at a theater near you".

MeInTX Says:

Dec 2, 2011 - While having an elevator open directly into your penthouse living room would be cool, I think I'd rather have a door with a deadbolt. I saw a lot of ads for Sade's most recent album a couple of years ago, so music companies still make commercials. They do seem to do it a lot less, though. Bruce Dern seems like an...interesting choice to host SNL. The guy doesn't appear in too many comedies. The plot description of Death Wish II is pretty insane. And that's Laurence Fishburne as a thug.
