Take a look at our glorious garden room. What impressed Angelique and I on first sight was its fantastic finish. Our challenge was to make it the kind of welcoming room you could sit in and use at any time of the day or evening, anytime of year. We chose this great Nomad wicker furniture with neutral seating cushions. Neutral interiors have sometimes been accused of blandness, but we've added bright bold splashes of colour, with cushions, throws and artwork, to bring it to life. We chose to hang simple neutral voiles along the walls, but you could also painting the interior very easily. Sanderson paints have some superb neutrals; I'd recommend eggshell. We could easily have added a compact work space; I like our very affordable Izzie desk and chair set in crisp white. Even a casual dining area would be possible; our Fleur Bistro set in pale mushroom would fit the bill admirably. To make sure the garden room gets full use during those cooler, early spring or late autumn evenings as well as in the summer, I would run power to it for a small low level heat source and to enable electric lighting as we have. This would need to be installed by a qualified electrician, but would be really worth the time and effort. Battery-operated line lights would be a simple and inexpensive solution too. http://www.johnlewis.com/Magazine/Feature.aspx?Id=518
