This was made withing the virtual world of Second Life Poem The Stolen Child by W.B. Yeats and read by Anya Yalin. WHERE dips the rocky highland Of Sleuth Wood in the lake, There lies a leafy island Where flapping herons wake The drowsy water rats; There we've hid our faery vats, Full of berrys And of reddest stolen cherries. Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand. Where the wave of moonlight glosses The dim gray sands with light, Far off by furthest Rosses We foot it all the night, Weaving olden dances Mingling hands and mingling glances Till the moon has taken flight; To and fro we leap And chase the frothy bubbles, While the world is full of troubles And anxious in its sleep. Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand. Where the wandering water gushes From the hills above Glen-Car, In pools among the rushes That scarce could bathe a star, We seek for slumbering trout And whispering in their ears Give them unquiet dreams; Leaning softly out From ferns that drop their tears Over the young streams. Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand. Away with us he's going, The solemn-eyed: He'll hear no more the lowing Of the calves on the warm hillside Or the kettle on the hob Sing peace into his breast, Or see the brown mice bob Round and round the oatmeal chest. For he comes, the human child, To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than he can understand. Feb 6, 2011 - I'm wanting to do a film based on Irish folklore myself and I must say this little short was fantastic. Very well done, the right atmosphere for the poem I think. Very eerie. The newspaper cutout with "missing child" written on it is a nice touch.

May 10, 2011 - It's interesting that you think I'm from California, because I am in fact from Flanders, Belgium. My native language is Dutch and my accent is generically Flemish as far as I know. (People from the Netherlands have a completely different accent in English.) I don't think I sound Californian (I'm certainly not trying to), but I do take it as a huge compliment that you thought I was American. I never figured I'd be able to pass for a native English speaker. So thank you ;)

Sep 15, 2011 - This belongs in a film! Seriously! It should be in a film! Your voice is amazing! You certainly pass for an American with the accent. I'm not American myself - I'm British - and I LOVE your accent! Well done with the video.

Mar 14, 2012 - Wow Lainy, I just now chanced on this!! I hope you're still following your YouTube Channel. I've so admired your machinimas, and this one is sublime. I wonder if you come back to Second Life; a new artist has created the most amazing and unsettling fairy environment that I filmed and used "Stolen Child" as its narrative. I'd love to share that with you if you'll allow me.
