Perhaps not a shopping spree... But, we were visiting a department store in Pyongyang. There were many empolyees, but we were the only customers. In the department store there were some food like some kind of meat, fruit, biscuits, alcohol and candy (MM!). The items we bought, were way outdated... They also had clothes, furniture, some electronics and loud speakers (the kind we saw on car roofs). It was quite expensive, and I asume this is not a store for the average north korean. (Captured august 2011)

Mar 2, 2012 - I've actually seen several videos on Youtube of what I believe to be this same store. And from what it appears, it's "very fancy", "Western-like" (they wish), and like you said- definitely not for the average North Korean. And Loud speakers for the car roof?? Sheesh. I've been studying up on there recently. It's not for school or anything, it's just that it's so warped and taboo that i want to see more of it (if that makes sense).
